The Circle of Friends Award

Late this past week, I turned on my computer to find a very pleasant surprise waiting for me. Tristan, a fellow blogger with a most unique and interesting blog, Enchanted Revelry, an eclectic mix of art, design, theatre and general creativity, had honored Classic Movies Digest with The Circle of Friends Award. I'm very grateful to Tristan, as I genuinely admire his good taste and discriminating eye. To pass on the award, I wanted to share it with a new and upcoming blog, as Classic Movies Digest is not even six months old and I know what it's like to get a blog going and develop a following. It takes alot of work, especially to be consistent with what you hope will be viewed as high quality content. I chose Midnite at Sunset and Vine, another classic film blog written by fellow film lover Beth Madron. Keep up the good work Beth. And Tristan, please continue to inspire with your awesome images.

  1. Congrats and it is indeed hard to find time to post regularly.

  2. Thanks honey child........You are a tough act to follow. You were my inspiration for starting my blog. After I became a member of the TCM fan union, I thought that I could start a blog too! I am by no means a professional writer. I only made it through 2 yrs of college. I hope my blog will entertain fellow classic movie fans and brighten their day. Nothing is better than staying in bed and curling up with a classic movie or biography of a classic movie star.

I chose the name Midnite at Sunset and Vine because that is where all the late night action used to be in Hollywood. CBS/Paramount radio studios used to be on the corner of Vine and Sunset. The famous Brown Derby restaurant was nearby on Vine. If you have not visited L.A., The Sunset Strip winds through Beverly Hills, Hollywood to Westwood and eventually turns into the Pacific Coast Highway. I visited Los Angeles in 1995 and was immediately enchanted with "the city of Angels."
I only spent 3 days there, and hope to return in a few years. I visited Universal Studios and took the tour. Next time, I am going to Warner Bros and Fox Studios for their tours.

  3. Genial dispatch and this mail helped me alot in my college assignement. Thank you for your information.
