Thanks for doing this writeup on her. She's been in some really good films.Keithhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14832710800680256206noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-833161426229360042.post-83912942044427305322009-05-20T08:22:06.380-04:002009-05-20T08:22:06.380-04:00While many of us remember Frank Capra, I'm afraid ...While many of us remember Frank Capra, I'm afraid that more than a few not recall Jean Arthur. Today sheis rarely mentioned with the top tier actresses of her time: Crawford, Davis, Hepburn, Lombard, and Harlow. It's a shame, too, because I think she was one of the most important talents of the 1930s. Rupert, I'm glad you're helping to keep her accomplishments alive.zippychikhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06965056129449792062noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-833161426229360042.post-7442688802014338952009-05-19T23:19:52.078-04:002009-05-19T23:19:52.078-04:00Talking films killed many silent stars like John G...Talking films killed many silent stars like John Gilbert and yet Jean Arthur's squeaky voice made her a star of the screwball genre. More the Merrier was one of her best films along with Talk of the Town with Cary Grant... however I think film lovers will always remember It Happened One Night as his finest film, but most people will remember It's A WOnderful Life even more, but I suggest people checkout Forbidden 1932 and Arsenic and Old Lace 1944 for two of his under-valued works...but then I would watch and of his films and any of Jean's films anytime, anywhere... PS Also checkout State of the Union 1948 and young viewers might just get a shock seeing Angela Lansbury in this film!!!Davidhttp://www.dpriol.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-833161426229360042.post-59290601349350790522009-05-19T22:37:57.999-04:002009-05-19T22:37:57.999-04:00I love Jean and Capra too! They say she wouldn't want to come on the stage. She was so shy she had stage fright and It made acting in movies agony for her they say. You couldn't tell it. I love so many of her movies especially the ones with Capra!ClassicJohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18084603957211826254noreply@blogger.com
